Special Education Teacher - Summer School - Temporary
The Brookside School, located in Cottekill, is seeking a Special Education Teacher for our six-week summer program, beginning in July.
Experience working with children with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities is very helpful.
At The Brookside School, every child is supported, loved and accepted into an environment where they are provided with rich opportunities to learn and grow. The Brookside School offers a regionally unique community preschool that serves children with and without special needs. Children participate in an integrated program that serves as a Rondout Valley Central School District Universal Pre-Kindergarten site, features a preschool special education program and is a private-pay option for parents who simply wish to send their child to a top-notch preschool.
For children who need special services, Brookside School offers speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, parent counseling and training, nursing services, assistive technology services, 1:1 teacher aide and vision services based on your child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Brookside can also provide special education through age 21.
Brookside’s families believe the inclusionary atmosphere is a benefit to all children. The classes allow children with various skills and capabilities to learn and play side-by-side. In this atmosphere, students learn from both the faculty and each other.
