Raytheon North Warning Summer Student in United States

Raytheon Canada Limited (RCL) implements an Inuit Training and Development Program (ITDP) that benefits communities within the Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement (CLCA). The purpose of the program is to actively recruit, develop, and train Inuit Beneficiaries (IBs) for employment on the North Warning System (NWS) Program and foster employee-retention and skills development for Inuit Beneficiary employees at all levels. Raytheon seeks Inuit Beneficiaries in the Summer Student program to support the NWS Program in Ottawa, North Bay, Inuvik, Cambridge Bay, Hall Beach, Iqaluit and Goose Bay. The trainees must be enrolled in secondary education and ready to take part in on-the-job training over the summer time frame, 9 weeks. These positions are temporary summer positions designed to provide individuals with exposure to logistics, engineering, administrative and informational technology fields while providing them with exposure to the jobs available on the North Warning System program following high school or their post-secondary education. Responsibilities: The Trainees will work under supervision to learn the responsibilities various positions required in a private sector company. Such tasks include: Performing a wide variety of data and administrative tasks in support of a business: including data entry and general office support; Learning to maintain an alphabetical, numerical or subject files; Operating office machinery and/or personal computers and being made familiar with several computer applications; Inputting data into various systems through exercises provided by the supervisor; Job shadowing RCL employees in the fields of engineering, supply chain, human resources and accounting depending on the trainee and their interests; Requirements: Must belong to one of the following Land Claim Agreements: Inuvialuit Final Agreement, Nunavut Land Claims Agreement; or the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement. Ability to pass Security clearance check to a secret level through the Canadian Government, if over the age of 18 years old; Knowledge of MS Office program suite skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Good communication skills and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently, in a team environment and cross-culturally Willing to learn Raytheon Canada Limited is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcomes a wide diversity of applicants.
