Purpose of Job:

The Senior Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing processing and administrative support within the Retail Service Centre. The Senior Accounting Clerk ensures daily and periodic administrative functions are completed in a timely and accurate manner while providing excellent customer service.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Provide processing support by:
  • Accurately processing daily assigned functions which may include product set up, instructing solicitors, reviewing security documentation, processing amendments, preparing discharge documents, preparing mortgage payouts, paying property tax bills, completing internal and external mail sorting and distribution, and completing mortgage exception processing requests.

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the systems, mortgage products, policies, procedures and processes.

  • Review incoming requests from supported units, or solicitor/notaries to ensure accuracy and adherence to policy and procedure.

  • Accurately updating information and data on various systems, applications and databases.

  • Prepare and/or verifying the accuracy of entires/transactions or documentation within defined authorities.

  • Ensure the identification and correction of errors and policy non-compliance.

  • Conduct invesigations to resolve exception situations or completing complex adjustment or correction transactions.

  • Prepare and responding to supported units, solicitor or notary correspondence and requests.

  • Prepare and/or checking reports or returns as assigned.

  • Support the implementation of required changes (e.g. policy, process, systems, etc.)

  • Assist with the training and cross-training of team members.

  • Process work with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Take full responsibility for assigned inquiries.

  • Provide assistance as required within investigating and resolving complaints.

  • Follow up on outstanding or unresolved issues, as assigned.

  • Be courteous, professional and responsive in all interactions.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of customer information

Skills, Experiences and Functional Competencies:

  • Basic Computer skills: including, but not limited to: common software tools (Microsoft Office products)

Education and Other Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year relevant customer service experience
