Smithfield Foods Packaged Meats Division is looking for a temporary employee to assist with the planning and execution of summer promotional events. This temporary position will last about 3 months, May/June through August.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

  • Preparing sampling vehicle with needed supplies

  • Getting sampling area ready for event

  • Placing up tents

  • Grilling/heating products

  • Interacting with consumers as a brand ambassador with Smithfield brand samples

  • Handing out coupons

  • Sampling Smithfield products at stores (Kroger, Meijer and other area special events)

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High School Diploma and completion of (minimum) three years college coursework in Marketing, or closely related field, from a regionally accredited college or university. This position is targeted at current college students.

  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills. Must be flexible with an ability to multi-task in an ever changing environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Outstanding communication skills; experience coordinating groups for special events would be helpful.

  • Travel up to 10% of the time may be required.
