United Way of King County Kids Coordinator & Summer Meal Site Host in Seattle, Washington

United Way of King County is seeking Campaign Corps members to be a part of a team to end childhood hunger in Seattle, Kent, Renton, Des Moines, Federal Way and Auburn . We are seeking full-time members to be a part of United Way's Summer Meals Program, a program to help children and teens access healthy meals during the summer.In King County, 100,000 low-income children and teenagers rely on free or discounted meals during the school year, but less than 20% access free meals during the summer. Serve the community this summer at partner meal sites across King County to deliver free meals and educational activities to children while concurrently developing meaningful professional and life skills. You will be assigned to one or more Summer Meals sites, where you will use the skills and experiences you have to make sure kids have a safe, fun and engaging environment. You will plan and lead activities, serve meals, and conduct grassroots community outreach to get the word out. As a part of a federal program, you will ensure that the policies and procedures are followed, meals are accurately counted, and meals are prepared correctly. You will gain experience working directly with the community and in support of a respected and influential nonprofit. Training will be provided in site management, marketing, youth engagement and data tracking – hard skills that will make your summer work influential on your resume. Successful Summer Associates are given top priority for year-longtermson working to end childhood hunger, poverty and homelessness on United Way's Financial Stability
