Legal Department College Intern - Summer 2018 in GAC Savannah Unique Skills: Under direct supervision, perform various legal and administrative activities in support of the Legal Department, including but not limited to; data entry, legal research, document drafting and editing, document analysis, organization of historical documents, and preparation of reports and documentation to support departmental goals and objectives. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: In support of the Legal Department and under direct supervision, perform administrative and legal activities to high quality standards under demanding schedules and deadlines Work with various members of the Legal Department on assigned projects. Attend meetings with attorneys and paralegals to advance projects and experience learning opportunities. Work with other departments to reach company goals and objectives. Perform legal research and analyze documents to find solutions. Review and update and/or create templates or Gulfstream-wide documents. Education and Experience Requirements: Must have completed a year in a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Academic program by May 2018, be in good academic standing, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and have at least one letter of reference from a faculty member or former employer in the legal field. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to perform multiple tasks, details and priorities with ease, including report preparation, developing and maintaining department files and other administrative tasks as required. Requires strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to make sound and logical decisions in all areas of administration. Capable of working effectively with representatives from other functions. Must be proficient in operation of standard office equipment and possess a high level of proven computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access General knowledge of contract terms and processes desired; basic knowledge of legal principals desired; familiarity with contractual documents and the procurement or sales process desired; knowledge of organization policies and procedures desired; the ability to organize, plan and prioritize a variety of assignments required. Must be able to commit a minimum of 40 hours a week and available through August 2018. Must have your own reliable transportation to and from work for the duration of the internship.
