Virginia State Government Summer Special Exhibit Gallery Staff in Richmond, Virginia
Looking for a unique experience? The Science Museum of Virginia seeks several dynamic individuals to work in its upcoming blockbuster feature exhibit, Body Worlds Animal Inside Out. Responsibilities include interpreting exhibit content, assisting guests and answering questions in the traveling exhibit Body Worlds Animal Inside Out; learning exhibit content and related areas; partnering with volunteer and paid gallery staff to enhance exhibit experiences in Body Worlds Animal Inside Out; anticipating guest concerns and proactively solving guest issues and needs; working with Guest Services staff to ensure real-time traffic flow is being communicated to ensure positive museum experiences. This is a part time, temporary position from early to mid-May through late August to early September 2018. Starting and ending dates can be flexible. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Please note that this is a part-time position with a maximum of 1500 hours in a 12 month period. No state benefits are provided.
One year of college or 1 – 2 years related or relevant experience. Ability to effectively present content in Body Worlds Animal Inside Out in both one-on-one and group situations in an engaging, compelling and energetic manner. Ability to engage guests of all ages with science content. Positive and flexible attitude is mandatory, strong desire to work with people in a fun, educational atmosphere. This is a physically demanding position requiring standing for long periods of time. Weekday, Weekend, Evenings, and Holiday availability is required.
