Job Description

The PV S.T.E.P. Intern, under general supervision, will assist the Athletic Administration, and will work with the Sports Medicine/Athletic Trainer staff personnel in providing assistance to injured, recovering student-athletes and those who are going through rehabilitation for seasonal injuries and post-season surgeries.


  • Conducting daily training room operations in the sports medicine clinic area.

  • Treating student athletes in recovery and rehabilitation of their injuries.

  • Conducting inventory of medical supplies and placing orders to replenish stock.

  • Conducting assessments of training room equipment to ensure functionality and availability of use.

  • Performing other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA; Must be in academic good standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college

  • Students must have completed 60 undergraduate hours by the conclusion of the Spring 2018 semester.

  • Registered for classes in Fall 2018

  • Graduate students must be enrolled in at least three (3) graduate hours, preferably in his/her field of study

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Good time management skills.

  • None

Other Requirements:

  • Commit to working the entire internship experience (30 hours per week)

  • 300-500 word synopsis regarding the student’s interest in the program

  • Be registered for classes in Fall 2018

  • Be eligible to work in the U.S.
