Job Description

The Program Specialist I, under general supervision, provides on-site supervision of the Preparing Undergraduate Leaders Through Summer Experience (PULSE) summer bridge participants. This position is a temporary summer position with an estimated start in June ending on August 31, 2018.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site supervision of PULSE summer bridge participants; manage day to day operations/schedules for PULSE.

  • Supervise daily operations of study hall, workshops, etc. escort participants to daily destinations, assist with conducting and monitoring weekend activities.

  • Respond to psychological, medical and maintenance emergencies, ensure fire and safety standards are maintained, assist with conducting health and welfare inspections of dorms, assist with resident conflict resolution.

  • Assist with enforcing all program policies/rules, document and submit incident reports, and attend staff meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.

  • No prior experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.

  • Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
