HarperCollins Publishers Summer Internship 2018 - Managing Editorial (Children's) in New York, New York

Attention grammar nerds! The managing editorial department of our Children's Books Group is currently seeking a summer intern to help with a variety of projects.

This summer internship is a paid opportunity (28 hours per week), and it will run from June 11 through August 16 for a total of 10 weeks.

  • Assisting in checking late stage book content (galleys, PDFs).

  • Assisting in creating and distributing PDFs of final book files.

  • Distributing and tracking book metadata (such as selling copy).

  • Database management (setting up marketing ISBNs).

  • Assisting with digital quality assurance – checking digital version against

  • source content.

  • Applicants must be at least entering their junior year of college

  • Applicants going into their senior year of college, grad students, or college graduates preferred

  • College-level understanding of grammar and spelling is required

  • Some experience working on college and/or high school publications is preferred

  • Experience with copy editing and/or proofreading is helpful

  • Previous part-time work experience is preferred

  • Must have a love of books!
