Summer Help – Decatur, IL

Research & Development

This is a part-time, temporary non-exempt level position.

Position Summary:

We are looking for distinguished, high potential individuals ready to take on summer assignments within Research & Development at ADM, a Fortune 100 company. Students will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the Company and develop as a professional at a world-class corporation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory research/tasks

  • Record observations, measurements, and report results

  • Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and maintenance of all clean rooms and equipment

  • Assist with receipt and inspection of raw materials, ordering and stocking

Job Requirements:

  • Have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field

  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

  • Must have the ability to work under immediate supervision

  • Must be at least 18 years of age prior to June 1, 2018

  • Currently enrolled in two- or four-year collegiate curriculum

  • Able to meet physical requirements including standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time, filing, bending, kneeling, operating a computer/keyboard, climbing stairs and operating a telephone

  • Prompt, regular attendance

  • Mature, professional demeanor

  • Strong spirit of teamwork and cooperation

  • Possess initiative to complete assignments accurately with little supervision

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, including precise attention to detail

  • Commitment to ADM’s safety initiatives

  • Basic computer knowledge, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs

  • 2.8 GPA is preferred
