Job Summary

Successful Mechanical Engineering Co-op candidate will participate in design, development, documentation, test and support of Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers, accessories and related products for the Airborne and Weapons market. Emphasis is on flight environments and high dynamic applications for the U.S. DoD and international military customers. Product examples include GPS receivers for aircraft and weapon operation as well as embedded solutions for use in other host navigation equipment.

The selected candidate will work in a cross-functional team and may participate in a number of the below activities:

  • Requirements definition and analysis,

  • Electronics packaging prototyping/design,

  • Interconnect design,

  • Design for producibility,

  • Mechanical/Electrical integration,

  • Requirements verification,

  • Transition to production, and

  • Supplier and product line support.

Good written and verbal communication skills are essential along with being highly motivated, willing to learn and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • Applicant must have 3D CAD software tool experience.

  • MATLAB Simulink experience preferred.

  • Python programming experience preferred.
