We are currently looking to hire student for our Summer Internship Program to our Direct Custody and Clearing Team in Romania.

LOCATION AND DURATION

This program within the Direct Custody and Clearing (DCC) is primarily aimed at students in their final year of university (though exceptional candidates at an earlier stage of study are going to be considered) and takes place in our Bucharest office.

This is a 3-month program running between mid-June and mid-September 2018.

At present time we are only accepting candidate who can work with us full-time throughout the program.

The main aim of the internship is to identify candidate for possible full-time positions in the securities services network after the program. This is a paid, tax effective internship program.

Job purpose:

During the internship you will work side by side with our top experts in securities services. You will build thorough knowledge of the local securities market, its accessibility to foreign investors and the post-trading environment in the country. You will familiarize yourself with the global securities services offered by Citi through its direct custody network.

Key responsibilities:

  • Technical support and development of the direct custody product offered in Romania.

  • Interaction with custody clients.

  • Handling of client documents and account openings.

  • Support of securities services operations in processing client instructions related to settlement, income, corporate actions, proxy voting, tax relief and reclaim.

  • Familiarize with industry standards and best practices in operations, controls and risk management requirements applicable to the custody business.

Qualifications

  • Currently completing a BSc/MSc in Economics, Accounting, Finance or similar (students in their final year of university, though exceptional candidates at an earlier stage of study are going to be considered)

  • MS Office with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent communication skills - English is a must

  • Organized and disciplined, able to observe deadlines

  • Attention to detail

  • Multitasker and good communicator

  • Willingness to learn rapidly and work under tight deadlines

  • Internship experience is an advantage
