2018 Summer Associate Program – Information Technology Enterprise ArchitectureOur undergraduate summer internships are a great way to gain confidence, sharpen your skills and make a difference. You ll work side by side with people who value your enthusiasm and creativity. The 2018 Summer Associate Program lasts 10 weeks, 40 hours a week, from June 4th to August 10th. The enterprise architecture positions will be offered out of Hartford, CT, Blue Bell, PA or Downers Grove, IL. You ll be assigned to a business within Aetna s enterprise architecture division and work on tasks you would experience if you worked here full time. Summer Associates also participate in:· A cross-functional project that provides solutions to a real business issue Aetna is facing, and the chance to present their recommendations to senior leaders at the end of the internship · Community service initiatives· Mentoring program· Networking events· The opportunity to learn about our businesses and get exposure to senior leaders Fundamental Components:Aetna's enterprise architecture team consists of more than a hundred highly experienced professionals who leverage their skills to turn business ideas into tech enabled solutions, in a company on the edge of changing the conversation around healthcare. We are seeking summer interns who can actively participate (with supervision) in architecture activities through design facilitation and/or help maintaining standards for technology solutions that will work across the enterprise. Typical architecture activities include researching emerging technology, evaluating software and technology fit to business problems, conducting forensics on deployed applications, building working prototypes, and designing software solutions for the healthcare industry or corporate use. The Summer Associate Program will provide you with exposure to the following: · Web application· Executing specific deliverables and activities as part of a team assigned to a business-sponsored IT project· Completing project activities on time and within budget, and proactively identifies and communicates issues that may jeopardize milestones to the Architect lead· Assisting in managing all key project governance documents, playbooks, and communication plans for Enterprise Architecture and other adhoc assignments

Background/ExperienceCurrent student pursuing a 4 year Bachelors degree in a relevant field of studyOverall GPA of 3.3+ (required)Strong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated leadership abilityEducationThe highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a high school diploma or equivalent experience.
