Position Summary:

The Blacksburg, VA manufacturing site is looking for a Summer 2018 Quality Engineering Intern. This is a great opportunity for current college engineering students interested in working in various aspects of operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Position requirements include:

  • In a direct, hands-on capacity, be able to learn, perform and understand all functions involved with quality and safety in a manufacturing facility.

  • Sufficiently strengthen skills and knowledge in multiple areas in order to be able to successfully provide direction and management.

  • Participate in hands-on, project based program to gain experience and knowledge on root cause analysis and corrective action.

  • Participation will require everything from shadowing other employees to working specific jobs that can range from lab technicians to production operators and more.

  • Work directly with machinery, lab instruments and process improvement.

  • Take ownership of special projects, as directed by the Quality Manager.

  • This position requires visibility to controlled documents.
