GENERAL LAND OFFICE Summer Intern - Clerk II in AUSTIN, Texas
The Texas General Land Office primarily serves the schoolchildren, veterans, and the environment of Texas. The agency does so by preserving our history, maximizing state revenue through innovative administration, and through the prudent stewardship of state lands and natural resources. This position is a 3 month summer position with our Surveying Program Area and will perform some of the essential job duties of Surveying Services and assist with other projects as needed. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school related to his or her particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting. To be considered for the intern position, you must be enrolled as a full-time student at a technical school, college or university the spring semester before the summer work period OR be currently accepted for enrollment at an institution of higher learning with at least 30 semester credit hours. Performs routine (journey-level) clerical work in areas such as bookkeeping, inventory control, statistics, employment, human resources, purchasing, mail processing, or accounting. Work involves compiling and tabulating data, checking documents for accuracy, transporting documents, and maintaining files. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Veterans, Reservist, or Guardsmen with an MOS or additional duties that fall in the fields of Army - 15P Aviation Operations Specialist; Navy - SN Seaman; Coast Guard - 360 Yeoman; Marine - 0100 Basic Administrative Marine; Air Force - 3A1X1 Administration or other related fields pertaining to the minimum experience requirement may meet the minimum qualifications for this position.
