Internship Position Description

Position Title: AKRO Summer Intern

Supervisor: AKRO Regional Director

Department Head: Vice President of Regional Operations

Department: AKRO-Regional Ops

The intern position will touch on a variety of tasks AKRO engages in, from outreach to data management to research, writing and design.

Qualifications/Requirements (i.e., education, technical skills):

Intern will be a college (undergraduate or graduate level) student. A range of skills’ including willingness to meet and work with people, attention to detail, and research and writing, are required. Familiarity with MS Excel and Word is required, and familiarity with social media and voice editing software for a podcast a plus.

Describe the tangible deliverables (projects, outcomes) that will be achieved:

Likely tasks will include a tabling event in a national park, working with our outreach coordinator to develop an AKRO Next Generation Council, developing a database for AKRO outreach, researching, writing and designing a short publication on either Alaska parks as good neighbors or the potential mining developments, including but not limited to Pebble Mine, threatening Lake Clark National Park.

Employee Status: XFull-time 37.5Hours per week

Work Schedule:M-F 8:30-5:00pm
