Summary of Role :

GLOBAL FOUNDRIES has aSummer 2018 Internship Position available at the Burlington Vermont site for a Test Automation Programmer Intern to develop C software that runs instruments and manages data into a central database. GLOBALFOUNDRIES manufactures a wide variety of semiconductor products which are used in cell phones, cell towers, satellite communication systems and fiber optic networks. This technology development organization is responsible for developing hardware and software systems for performing high speed testing of such products. This intern will design, develop and test application solutions on Linux platforms to control production tools as well as high volumes of data to an IBM DB2 or Oracle data base.

This position is for a candidate that will graduate and be ready to enter the workforce within the next two years. This candidate must be actively enrolled in pursuing a BS/MS in software engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering with programming skills in C, and C in a Linux environment.

Successful candidates will be comfortable working through all stages of the software development life-cycle from requirements, development, test and deployment using Agile disciplines. They will work in a dynamic collaborative environment requiring strong teaming skills with programmers, engineers, managers, and production employees.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and Currently Enrolled in a BS Program with an Accredited College or University (Entering Junior or Senior Year) – Majoring in Software Engineering or Computer Science Discipline

  • Understanding of the Software development lifecycles

  • Excellent Academic Standing

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid programming skills (C, C , SQL, R)

  • OS knowledge (Linux, Windows)

  • Strong Written & Verbal Communications Skills

  • Attention to Detail

  • Self-Motivated, able to take ownership of assignments, develop work plans and proactively seek feedback to ensure objective are aligned and met

  • Team player, able to succeed in a dynamic, fast paced environment
