Job Description:

Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care on our 28 Bed - Adult Medical/Surgical-Oncology Unit at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville MN.

The RN cares for a vast array of medical, oncology and post-surgical patients and their complications of cancer therapy, surgical interventions and other complex medical/surgical needs. Partners with the patient and their families/significant others to provide them with the best care and education possible. Implements and directs plan of care with a team model which includes LPN/NA partners and members of other interdisciplinary teams. Evaluates patient care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes and goals. Assists with transition of care to end of life. Will use EPIC for computerized documentation.

64 Hours in pay period, flexible schedule D/E/N, will know exact schedule 4-6 weeks in advance.

Working 8 hour shifts, e/o weekend, share of holidays. Benefit eligible.

Position will start in 2018.

Job Qualifications:

Required;

Current MN RN license by start date (Winter or Summer 2018).

BLS for healthcare providers or written validation of current basic life support competency.

Must have at least one year of current acute care RN experience in a oncology/surgical setting OR a 300-320 hour paid internship with Fairview Health Services.

Good delegation, customer service, team and communication skills required.

Must be comfortable with using computers and working with a diverse patient population.

Must be willing to become chemo certifed

Preferred;

BSN or higher preferred
