JOB SUMMARY: Work within a Unyson team to support the team in their efforts to identify and select best in class transportation options utilizing i2's AS400 transportation manager and optimizer. Support duties will include coordinating inbound and outbound shipment activities to ensure 100% customer satisfaction using all modes of transportation.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Provide exceptional customer service by developing good working relationships within the team, as well as internal and customersHandle customer shipment routing requests with the assistance of a Logistics CoordinatorPrepare load-build reports with the assistance of a Logistics CoordinatorMaintain customer/carrier profiles and tariffs within i2 TMS and TPS, with the assistance of a Logistics CoordinatorResolve customer problems and complaints to ensure customer satisfactionIdentify and develop innovative ways of streamlining the operations processes wherever possible within the guidelines of customer requirements and team goalsAssist and support Lead Logistics Coordinator and Logistics Manager whenever and however neededComplete or assist with miscellaneous projects as directed by Logistics ManagerProvide support to other Logistics Teams and interact with other departments to respond to their needsDevelop knowledge of all modes of transportation Must be enrolled in a undergraduate degree program in logistics, transportation, supply chain, etc. for the duration of the internshipCommunications skills (i.e., interpersonal, verbal, written, telephone)Ability to function in a team-based environmentCustomer service/interaction skills and experienceAbility to organize and prioritize workload and document/maintain recordsPC / Computer skillsProblem solving skillsAbility to use creativity and good business judgment to make decisionsFlexibility to adapt to a fast paced and changing environmentEQUIPMENT USED:Computers; AS400 mainframe system, Lotus Notes Databases, Windows applications; Word, ExcelI2 transportation manager and optimizerInbound Web Portal, Customer Advantage Logistics Tracking, and Vendor InterfaceTelephone systemOffice equipment; fax, copiers, system printers, system serversOur summer internship runs from May 2018 to August 2018. It is 40 hours per week Monday thru Friday. To qualify you must be an undergraduate student for the duration of the internship.
