Assists with event preparation and participates in improvement events as requested to support plant objectives. Activities shall include, but not limited to:

  • Observation of team members in areas such as continuous flow, 5 s, standard work, just in time production techniques.

  • Document work process information such as people and material flow, and cycletimes.

  • Observe and participate in Lean Workshops, with guidance and support of Lean Workshop Leader. May work toward leading workshops with supervision.

  • Assist in the implementation of process and equipment improvement opportunities as directed.



Current college/university student pursuing a degree in Engineering, Quality/Continuous Improvement or a related discipline.


Limited or no experience in utilizing specific administrative support, production or customer service skills. Utilizes knowledge of basic and business rules and practices to execute assigned tasks.


Begins to apply knowledge of common business environment and practices.

Usually requires direct supervision on routine work assignments, but may require limited supervision to review routine work assignments as training and experience permit.

Limited or no responsibility for non-routine work assignments.

Follows established procedures and policies.

Able to accomplish tasks which are diverse and are semi-routine.

Applies basic and develops advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment appropriate to area of work.

Requires instruction only on new assignments.

Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.

Some understanding of the stages in the project life cycle and project methodologies a plus.

Knowledge of systems skills with the ability to assist with developing and driving implementation of system or process changes.
