The Compliance Analyst Intern position provides a unique experience in our Cash Services Department for rising college juniors and seniors. The position is located in Richmond, VA. The position provides summer interns with the opportunity to enhance essential business skills and increase understanding of the Federal Reserve’s role in payments and the provision of U.S. currency and coin. During the program, interns will work on a team to perform compliance reviews and complete business continuity requirements for Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond Cash operations in Richmond, VA; Baltimore, MD; and, Charlotte, NC. Assignments may require day-trip and/or overnight travel. In addition interns will develop a relationship with a mentor, create and deliver formal presentations, and conduct critical analysis.
The hiring range for this internship is -$18.50/hr *The deadline for applying to this role is November 17, 2017 Please note that housing will not be provided *Candidates subject to special background check procedures
This is a part time position (no benefits) that will begin in May 2018 and will end in early August 2018. The work schedule for the position will average 35 - 40 hours per week; however, flexibility to alter work schedule is required.
Essential Job Responsibilities/include,but are not limited to the following:/
Assist in the administration of an annual business continuity exercise, including planning and facilitating a test exercise and documenting outcomes and opportunities for improvement.
Satisfactorily complete assignments within established timeframes.
Responsibly handle Internal F.R. (i.e., confidential) information.
Observeand participate in relevant meetings to gain an understanding of Fifth District Cash operations.
Develop relationship with mentor who provides routine feedback regarding progress.
Participate in intern program social networking and professional development activities, asapplicable.
Candidate must be a rising college junior or senior with a minimum 3.2 GPA with apreferred emphasis in Business Administration, Management, Accounting/Finance orrelated field.
Strong project and time management skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills, as evidenced by a demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Demonstrated computer skills, as evidenced by academic coursework or practical experience with spreadsheet and word processing software.
Demonstrated ability to appropriately analyze, interpret, and discuss low to moderately complex issues with management and staff.
Demonstrated ability to reach conclusions that are supported by facts and sound reasoning.
Demonstrated ability to assess when to ask for help versus when to complete assignments with limited assistance.
Strong team orientation, as evidenced by successful small group collaboration in an academic, athletic or work environment.
Must be willing and able to travel to address assignments, if necessary (destinations – Baltimore, MD or Charlotte, NC).
