LSL Property Services plc Graduate Residential Surveyor Programme 2018 - Portsmouth in Portsmouth, United Kingdom
Graduate Residential Surveyor Programme Summer 2017
Did you know that e.surv Chartered Surveyors is one of the UK’s leading residential valuation services providers? We have the best post code coverage of any residential surveying company, we employ over 400 surveyors across the UK, so we’re able to offer our clients and customers the flexibility of national coverage with the benefits of local expertise.
As the future of e.surv, our graduate surveyors play a vital role in shaping our company. Surveying is in our DNA and we’re passionate about inspiring the next generation of property experts. If you’re thinking of training to be a residential surveyor, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve worked with our most experienced technical experts to develop a comprehensive training programme that gives our graduates exposure to a wide range of property types and scenarios. You’ll also benefit from an established mentoring scheme.
It’s a formula that we’re proud of and one that’s been working very successfully for the past three years, during which time we’ve helped almost 150 graduates to join our business and establish their career paths. In fact, our last group of graduates surpassed the industry average by some way with their AssocRICS submissions, raising the bar for both e.surv and the industry as a whole.
On the back of this success, we’re now inviting applications for our Summer 2017 intake of graduates. It’s a good time to become a surveyor, and an even better time to join e.surv.
We’re currently looking for suitably qualified candidates in the following locations:
South East London
YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE COMPLETED A RICS ACCREDITED DEGREE OR MASTERS TO BE ELIGIBLE
Our graduate programme provides you with a highly practical introduction to residential surveying. You’ll be supported throughout the process through a combination of ongoing practical assessment, classroom based training, and mentoring. You’ll spend approximately ten months shadowing our highly skilled surveyors and you’ll gain plenty of practical experience, allowing you to work through a variety of key competencies, including valuation and building pathology.
Then, armed with your knowledge and practical understanding, your mentor and supervisor will support you in preparation for your AssocRICS assessment. The assessment will lead to RICS Associate membership and demonstrates your competence to practice as an AssocRICS surveyor. This process takes approximately one year, during which you’ll obtain the necessary professional skills, knowledge and practical exposure to meet the requirements of becoming a residential surveyor.
Have you got that certain something needed to join our team?
Do you have a strong academic background with a relevant RICS accredited Degree/Masters?
Do you have a genuine passion for property?
Do you have excellent verbal and written communication skills?
Are you able to work as part of a team and build effective working relationships?
Do you have strong problem solving and analytical skills, initiative and a proactive approach?
What’s in it for you?
Of course, we expect you to work hard, learn quickly, ask lots of questions, and have some fun along the way. In return, you’ll benefit from the support and expertise of our experienced team, together with a competitive salary and a benefits package that includes:
Sponsorship for the AssocRICS qualification (including payment of all RICS fees)
25 days paid holiday plus bank holidays
Private medical insurance (after AssocRICS qualification)
Death in service assurance
Share incentive schemes
Company car or car allowance
But don’t just take our word for it – we’re a little bit biased. So, we asked a few of our recent graduates to tell us what they think about life at e.surv.
“No two days are the same on the graduate programme. I’ve really benefited from the variety of site visits and day trips, and being able to shadow qualified MRICS surveyors was invaluable.
The one-on-one mentoring process helped to enrich my knowledge and understanding, and gave me an insight into the type of work I’d be undertaking when qualified. Best of all, I felt supported throughout. I’ve got a great support network, having developed valued friendships with my mentors as well as the other trainees.”
Lily Stratton – AssocRICS Surveyor
“For me, the most positive aspects of e.surv’s graduate programme are the excellent training and continued support I received from my mentors. The team provided me with clear and structured stages of training and development, undoubtedly easing my transition to AssocRICS qualification.”
Kevin Cunningham – AssocRICS Surveyor
“The e.surv graduate programme encourages you to take a very hands-on approach to your personal development. As well as attaining a professional qualification, you’re rewarded for your ambition and a willingness to learn. The mentoring system provided me with crucial on-the-job training experience that I’m now able to apply on a day-to-day basis. It allowed me to establish a solid platform on which I can build my knowledge.”
Scott McIntosh – AssocRICS Surveyor
We may be big, but e.surv has always been about quality not quantity. To apply for a place on our graduate programme, you must meet our minimum criteria. You will have, or be predicted to obtain a RICS accredited degree or international equivalent. Alternatively, you will have a non RICS degree accompanied by a RICS accredited Master’s degree or equivalent.
