Summer Seed Production Assistant
Two positions available in Lethbridge, AB
Assisting in ensuring seed is planted at the right rate and at the right depth.
Conducting plant counts and taking field notes on crop emergence.
Scouting production fields to identifying problem weeds and insects
Conducting counts of volunteer plants in the production fields.
Manage the isolation needs of the control throughout the season.
Scouting future seed production fields for volunteers and objectionable weeds.
Utilizing our best in class field management system to take field notes throughout the season.
Leading a team
Facilitate the planning and logistics of field work to the required areas
Supervising crews in the field responsible for hand removing undesired plants
Ensuring the work performed is done safely and effectively
Reading, understanding and following all standard operating procedures, safety policies and training documents relating to the listed duties.
Other duties and projects as required
Agriculture, Business or Science Degree student, or Diploma student, or graduate
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage people.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Valid driver's license required; Driving record will be reviewed.
