NiSource New Business Intern - Summer 2018 in Columbus, Ohio

We heat and light homes, and provide the hidden ingredient in much of whats produced in our service territories across Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.Columbia Gas, a NiSource company, has an exciting new internship opportunity in the New Business department. The selected intern will assist with an array of business functions that revolve around attaining customer commitment to utilize natural gas equipment over alternate fuels while negotiating the least cost/highest profitability natural gas facility installation.

Gain New Business knowledge to include residential and commercial energy efficiency opportunities by participating fully in training sessions, meetings, skill building and professional development classes.

Educate customers about natural gas equipment efficiency, features and benefits of natural gas and opportunities to participate in Companys energy efficiency programs to increase customer base and improve customer satisfaction.

Accurately assess availability of natural gas infrastructure and the cost to extend service to potential customers.

Assess customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.

Analyze projects parameters and determine factors and economic model inputs.

Effectively manage opportunities and leads in sales territory in a collaborative manner with assigned team in order to reduce sales cycle time.

Champion clients project needs throughout project life cycle to ensure desired installation times frames are always met.

Understand and apply knowledge of natural gas infrastructure and equipment installation codes and standards.

Required for Selection:

Pursuit of a Bachelors Degree (preferably in Business or Engineering)

Required GPA 3.0 and above

Strong communication and presentation skills

Analytical skills

Competent computing skills including the Microsoft family of software

Basic financial acumen

Safety focus

Highly energetic and self-starter; ability to work independently
