Summer Intern - Firmware Engineering

Allegion is seeking a highly motivated individual as an embedded software (firmware) intern in our Engineering Group for the summer of 2018. The job involves understanding the assigned product, completing firmware design, coding, and testing activities under the supervision of a senior firmware engineer.


  • Complete firmware design, coding, and testing activities under the supervision of a senior firmware engineer


  • Pursuing a BS degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

  • Sophomore year must be complete by the start of the summer internship program for undergraduate candidates.

  • Minimum 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative (e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc. or exceptional leadership on school/work projects).

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C and/or C# and one or more scripting languages such as Python or Perl is beneficial

  • Your ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and your ability to be effective in a highly collaborative team environment will be key to your success

  • Experience in embedded software testing techniques will be very helpful

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with complex data

  • Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
