WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

The 2018 Kellogg internship program is designed to provide you an engaging experience. As an IT Analytics intern, you will be collaborating with 1-2 interns to assist in developing advanced analytics using state of the art modeling techniques, including forecasting, data mining, and machine learning. You will gain hands-on experiences to help grow your technical skill set and be part of the united values and collaborative culture at the Kellogg Company.

During your internship, you can expect to contribute to or learn the following:

  • Assist in developing statistical models in SAS or R

  • Prepare raw data in SAS or R using pre-existing code or creating new code

  • Perform regression modeling, data mining, and data analysis to extract useful business insights

  • Assist in designing and implementing dashboards that track key business metrics and provide insights

  • Gain an in depth understanding of how IT enables the Kellogg business

  • Gain hands-on technology experience to build your IT functional and technical competency level

  • Understand and evaluate customer needs, competitive landscape, technology trends, to define a strategy

  • Gather, analyze, and prioritize inputs and synthesize them into business requirements that will drive the development of innovation

  • Translate business priorities into actionable, clearly communicated milestones and deliverables

At the end of the IT summer internship program, the intern class will present their project to the IT organization and IT Senior Leadership Team.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?

As well as having the hunger to learn and demonstrate our K Values, you must be able to meet the following requirements:

Required:

  • Currently pursuing either a BA/BS (Junior or Senior) or Master's (1st year) degree in Statistics, Economics, Math, Data Science, or related technical field

  • Experience with statistical analysis or regression modeling

  • Experience with packages such as SAS, R, etc. preferred

  • Experience with SQL or other programming languages (Python, Java, and/or C++)

  • Analytical and detail oriented

  • Excellent verbal, communication and presentation skills

  • Must have strong computer skills in: Excel & PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • In pursuit of (or intent to pursue upon completion of undergrad degree) MA/MS in Statistics, Economics, Math, Data Science, or related technical field

  • Base SAS Certification

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

  • This position requires a 12 week commitment starting May 14, 2018

  • Competitive salary corresponding with education level and experience

  • Housing stipend available to students that live 50 miles or more from our Kellogg Company campus site (Battle Creek, MI)
